Circle members receive complete briefings on every initiative we fund: what we assessed, what we deployed, and how it performed. No summaries, no press releases.
Strategy sessions in person and virtually
Four times a year, we walk through where the money went and what is next. These are working sessions, not donor receptions. In-person and virtual options for each.
Direct access to initiative leaders and creators
Members participate in closed-door events with the people running funded initiatives: journalists, filmmakers, researchers, and platform strategists working in the field.
Direct input into what we prioritize next
Circle members review the funding pipeline and contribute to the conversation about where resources go. Member input has changed where resources go.
Philanthropists and strategists working on the same problem
The Circle functions as a working group. Members include donors, operators, researchers, and communications professionals. The peer network is a significant part of what membership offers.

Research Roundtable
Circle OnlyA working session with funded researchers and initiative leads. Members review new data on narrative trends, platform dynamics, and campus climate, and ask questions directly. Small group, no presentations.
Annual Shofar Summit
Circle OnlyThe full day for Circle members, initiative leads, and select guests. We review the year, examine what is working and what is not, and set the strategic direction for the year ahead.

Join the Shofar Circle
Annual membership is $1,800. Circle membership is reviewed individually. Shofar Fund reserves the right to decline any membership and issue a full refund of the membership fee.
